TIDAL Backpack Sprayer Troubleshooting

If your sprayer is unresponsive, there could be several areas of concern. Below is a video walking you through all the possible sources of the problem.

1. Check the battery
   
   1. If available, insert a spare, charged, and functioning battery into the sprayer. If the sprayer turns on, the problem is with your initial battery.
   2. If you do not have a spare battery, press the LED indicator light on your battery. If no LED lights appear, the battery must be replaced.
   3. Using a voltmeter, you can test the battery in question. Turn your voltmeter to the 200V DC setting and hold the positive (red) electrode to the positive terminal on the battery. At the same time, hold the negative (black) electrode to the negative terminal on the battery. The voltmeter should read close to 18V and if it reads significantly less (or zero), the battery needs to be replaced (part number: TIDAL-BAT2.6 or TIDAL-BAT5.2).
2. Check the micro pressure switch
   
   1. Without a battery installed, unscrew the back cover plate, and locate the micro pressure switch housing at the top of the pump.
   2. Remove the two screws at the top and bottom of the protective case around the micro pressure switch.
   3. Using pliers, squeeze the tab of the spade wire fitting and remove it from the switch. Pull down the clear rubber insulators on the spade wire fitting to expose the metal.
   4. Insert a battery into the sprayer and turn the power rocker switch on. Bypass the micro pressure switch by touching the bare metal of the spade wire fitting to the other spade wire fitting at the other terminal on the micro pressure switch.
   5. If the sprayer turns on, you have a defective micro pressure switch and must replace (part number: TIDAL-MICROSWITCH). See video in replacement parts section (below) under “Replacing a defective micro pressure switch”
3. Check the power rocker switch
   
   1. Without a battery installed, unscrew the back cover plate, and locate the power rocker switch.
   2. Using pliers, squeeze the tab of the spade wire fitting to release from the power rocker switch terminal.
   3. Move the spade wire fittings to the second set of power rocker switch terminals.
   4. Insert a battery into the sprayer and turn the power rocker switch on. If the sprayer does not turn on you may need to replace the power rocker switch (part number: TIDAL-POWERSWITCH).
4. Check internal electrical component ensuring that they are connected securely to the fittings
